Eligibility Requirements:
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) and the Beauty and Wellness Sector Skill Council (B&WSSC) have introduced vocational training courses in beauty and wellness for school students. The main points are:
- The CBSE and B&WSSC have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to make students industry-ready by offering them training and skills in beauty and wellness.
- The courses will be introduced in classes 9 to 12 as optional subjects, and students who complete the courses successfully will receive a certificate from the B&WSSC.
- The aim is to provide vocational training to students and make them more employable in the beauty and wellness industry.
- The courses will cover a range of subjects such as skincare, haircare, beauty services, and wellness practices, and will be taught using a combination of theory and practical training.
- The curriculum will be designed by the B&WSSC and will be aligned with the National Skill Qualification Framework (NSQF) and the guidelines of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
- The CBSE expects that the introduction of vocational courses in beauty and wellness will help students in developing job-oriented skills, as well as increase awareness about the importance of personal grooming and wellness practices.
