It was formerly known as Pandit Deendayal Petroleum university established by GERMI as a Private University which the state enacted on 4 April 2007. It is an institute with good faculty, placements, and infrastructure.
It is the only university in Gujarat, that is granted autonomy by UGC. NAAC accredited it with an A grade.

7. Symbiosis School of Liberal Arts
Also known as SSLA, Pune is a constituent of Symbiosis International (deemed to be a University). It is recognized by UGC and is re-accredited with an “A” grade by NAAC. the university offers full-time BA and BSc programs in liberal education.
